Frequently Asked Questions
π©Ί First Aid Training FAQs
-
Employers must carry out a first-aid needs assessment. Low-risk workplaces (like offices) often only require Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW). Higher-risk settings (construction, manufacturing) usually need First Aid at Work (FAW).
Please Contact us for a Needs Assessment so that we can advise on which level of training would be suitable for your workplace.
-
Most first aid certificates (FAW, EFAW, Paediatric) last 3 years. Annual refreshers are recommended.
-
Itβs not mandatory, but the HSE strongly recommends an annual 3-hour refresher to keep skills sharp.
-
It depends on your first-aid needs assessment. As a rough guide:
Low-risk workplaces with <25 staff = at least 1 EFAW-trained person.
Larger or higher-risk workplaces need more trained staff relative to the number of employees.
Please Contact us for a Needs Assessment so that we can advise on which level of training would be suitable for your workplace.
-
Paediatric is for childcare/early years (EYFS requirement), covering infants & children. FAW/EFAW are workplace-focused and cover adults.

π₯ Fire Safety / Fire Marshal Training FAQs

Fire safety training must be given when staff start work and regularly thereafter. Many providers recommend refresher training every 1β3 years, depending on risk.
-
Fire Marshal/Warden training is typically a half-day course (around 3 hours). We do not currently offer online versions or e-learning.
-
All staff must receive basic Fire Safety / Awareness training. A smaller number (depending on building size/risk) should be appointed and trained as Fire Wardens/Marshals.

Fire legislation & responsibilities, fire prevention, evacuation procedures, use of fire extinguishers, and the role of a fire marshal.
